We’re coming up on that time of year where we intentionally acknowledge what we’re grateful for in life. It’s also a time to relax, to forget about work and our hectic schedules (though perhaps not hectic Black Friday shopping!), and to enjoy the company of our loved ones. And let’s not forget the Thanksgiving meal! If you’re missing teeth, have failing teeth, or have ill-fitting dentures, chances are you may not get to enjoy the spread as much as everyone else. This Thanksgiving, let our dentist in Red Bank, NJ provide replacement teeth that will make all the difference – for your holiday gatherings and for your life.
If you’re ready to count your new teeth among your blessings, call 732-945-5343 today to set up a consultation. In the meantime, let’s look at your teeth replacement options at Denise DiBona, DDS, LLC.
Dig In Thanks To A Dental Bridge
A dental bridge is a common tooth replacement for one tooth up to a few teeth in a series. We’ll take impressions, measurements, and images to ensure we create a bridge that looks natural.
A bridge is made of two crowns on either side, with replacement teeth attached in between. The crowns are secured to your natural teeth, just like regular crowns are. So if you’re missing one tooth, we can give you a bridge with two supporting crowns attached to one replacement tooth (essentially a solid crown) in the middle.
To prepare your tooth for a bridge, we’ll carefully adjust your existing teeth that will support the crowns. This is an nonreversible procedure, but you can expect your bridge to easily last a decade with good care.
For even better support, you can attach a bridge to implants instead of your natural teeth. This kind of bridge can even replace an entire arch of teeth. The implants should last a lifetime.
Either way, you can eat just about whatever you want with a bridge, whether conventional or implant-supported. Enjoy that turkey with ease!
Delight In Your Mealtime With Dentures
Don’t pass up every hard, chewy, or crunchy food at your Thanksgiving dinner anymore. If you have well-fitting dentures, you will not be in pain every time you chew, and your food options will open up widely. If dentures fit well (perhaps with a little help from adhesive, depending on your situation), you can stop worrying about mealtime.
Our modern, custom dentures are more secure and more attractive than your grandfather’s dentures. That means you can feel comfortable smiling in your family’s holiday photos! In fact, your smile might look brighter and healthier than anyone else’s there.
For maximum support, our patients like to attach their dentures to implants. This keeps them firmly rooted in your mouth.
Dine Without Depriving Yourself When You Choose Dental Implants
Conventional dentures are a great option for many people. However, they can take some adjusting initially as you learn to talk, eat, and laugh with your new replacement teeth. You also may require adhesive, which can affect the taste of your pumpkin pie and all other foods. You’ll also have to take your dentures out at the end of the day.
Dental implants eliminate all of this. These metal posts are secured under your gums and become part of your jawbone, so they aren’t going anywhere – even when you help yourself to a slice of pecan pie!
As we mentioned, implants can support bridges or dentures. For individual missing teeth, we’ll attach a crown to an implant. In almost all cases, you will not have to remove your teeth or soak them in a solution. They’ll stay throughout your entire Thanksgiving meal and while you laugh at your uncle’s corny jokes at the table.
Teeth implants also help prevent bone loss that’s common with dentures or bridges, so they help improve your oral health as well.
