Red Bank Dentist Now Offering Sleep Appliances for Medicare Patients

RED BANK, NJ – Red Bank residents can now have their dental sleep appliances covered under Medicare at Dr. Denise DiBona’s family dental practice.

Medicare is available to Americans who are 65 and older or those with disabilities. Dr. DiBona’s practice was recently accepted as a Medicare provider for sleep appliances after starting the process in December.

“Patients have been waiting for the rep tape to end, and now my senior patients are ecstatic and excited to get the treatment they need,” Dr. DiBona said.

Dr. DiBona uses special oral appliances to treat snoring and sleep apnea. Her mouthguards serve as an alternative to the cumbersome, poorly tolerated CPAP device, which is worn over a patient’s entire face while they sleep. Dr. BiBona creates custom and comfortable mouthguards that position the lower jaw forward and open up the airway.

“I’m overjoyed to be offering this new service because more people can be helped with their sleep apnea, which is connected to other health risks such as stroke, heart disease, diabetes and more,” Dr. DiBona said. “Sleep apnea also makes people feel constantly sleepy and can cause memory and concentration issues.”

Dr. DiBona, originally from Brooklyn, New York, has been in practice for almost 30 years. She offers general dentistry, restorative dentistry, orthodontics, Invisalign, snoring and sleep apnea devices, same-day emergency care and even dental implants. She uses dental implants to replace individual missing teeth and mini dental implants to stabilize dentures. Dental implants are made from titanium and naturally fuse to the jawbone, creating an anchor for a permanent restoration.

Dr. DiBona’s Red Bank dental office includes the latest technology and amenities to keep her patients comfortable during their visits. She uses air abrasion, a dental tool that can remove tooth decay without the use of shots or drilling; Panorex digital X-ray machine; and intraoral cameras to take pictures of teeth, gums and the oral cavity to educate patients about dental procedures and proper oral hygiene.

Dr. DiBona graduated fifth in her class at Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine and completed a General Practice Residency at Monmouth Medical Center. She was the valedictorian of her high school and graduated magna cum laude from New York University. She is certified in Invisalign, orthodontics, dental implants and Botox and Dermal Fillers.

Dr. DiBona is dedicated to giving back to her community. She participates in Dentistry From The Heart, a program that provides a free day of dentistry to uninsured or underinsured members of the community, and has an annual Halloween candy buy-back event. She also supports breast cancer awareness organizations and the New York–based nonprofit Smile Train, which provides corrective surgery for children with cleft lips and palates.

Dr. DiBona received the New Jersey Top Dentist Award for 2014 and 2015.
